The Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty member for the Hybrid J.D. Program. Courses may be offered online and on the Ventura campus or online only.

The role emphasizes teaching excellence, curriculum collaboration with the Associate Dean of Hybrid and Online Learning, and strong use of digital tools to foster student success. Qualified candidates hold a J.D. degree with prior teaching experience preferred.

Job Description:Adjunct Faculty for Hybrid J.D. Program - General DescriptionAdjunct Faculty in the hybrid J.D. program at The Santa Barbara & Ventura Colleges of Law instruct students in one of two ways: (1) both online and onsite on the Ventura campus, or (2) online only.Adjunct Faculty instruct students in a designated subject matter and work closely with the Associate Dean of Hybrid and Online Learning on appropriate curriculum development and teaching methodology for the hybrid J.D. program.Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Full responsibility for the teaching and evaluation of students in the classWhere appropriate, create and build a course that is easy to navigate, utilizes a variety of tools and assessments, and provide learning materials that foster student learningComprehensive instruction of students in the designated subject matter, utilizing appropriate teaching methodologiesAdminister assessments to evaluate student progress, record results, and inform students of their progressProvide timely and meaningful feedback to students on weekly assignmentsClosely monitor course activity and student engagementUtilize Canvas learning management system as the infrastructure for teaching and tracking student outcomesMaintain an environment that is conducive to online learningPosition Requirements:Show evidence of teaching ability and maintain current knowledge and expertise in designated subject matterGood organizational, interpersonal, communication, and presentation skillsProficient use of technologyPosition Qualifications:J.D. degree requiredPrevious teaching experience preferredCompensation & BenefitsThis opportunity is budgeted at $NA base compensation.
