Job summary

NCDIT Transportation is seeking a Java Mid-Level Developer contractor for the DMV Traffic Records Systems (TRS) team in Raleigh, NC. The assignment supports eCrash/NC-CRIS projects and provides critical second-level on-call support.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field and at least 3 years in Java/JEE, Oracle, XML, and related Web Services stack; strong communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, or Engineering or related technical discipline. Required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Required
• Java/JEE, Oracle, and XML for a minimum of 3 years. Required
• Web Services, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Struts, Eclipse IDE, and version control tools for a minimum of 3 years. Required
• Application analysis and design, cost analysis, staffing estimates, testing, documentation, and implementation for 3 years. Required
• Technical helpdesk support for 3 years. Required
• Java Certification desired
• Visual C++, .NET, CORBA, EJB, Hibernate desired

Responsibilities

• Fill the role of Java Mid-Level Developer on the DMV TRS team.
• Backfill the current team as they develop the eCrash/NC-CRIS project.
• Provide 2nd level 24/7 on-call support.
• Translate customer requests into technical requirements and user stories.
• Coordinate software release schedules with Business and Technical Team.
• Develop business requirements and provide testing and training support.
