Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level ITS Engineer to support Indianapolis transportation projects, advancing smart mobility and connectivity. Qualifications

• BA/BS and 4 years of relevant experience demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• 6+ years of ITS engineering experience preferred, with emphasis on design and implementation of transportation technology systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Experience supporting state or local transportation agencies (e.g., INDOT or municipal clients).
• Familiarity with ITS communications systems, network architecture, and field device integration.
• Experience with traffic studies, signal design, or maintenance of traffic.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, design, and deployment of ITS infrastructure including traffic management systems and CCTV.
• Apply systems engineering processes to ITS and emerging technology projects from concept through implementation.
• Prepare design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical memoranda.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and software engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Review technical work and ensure adherence to AECOM quality standards.
