Job summary

Atain Insurance Companies is seeking an experienced attorney to join its claims team in a role focused on insurance defense and coverage analysis. The position involves investigating and evaluating bodily injury, property damage, professional liability, and D&O claims, while strategizing to achieve favorable outcomes for our clients and the company.

You will provide counsel on coverage issues, communicate with policyholders and partners, and participate in mediations and settlement conferences.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of insurance defense experience or insurance coverage experience preferred.
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active license in good standing.
• Strong work ethic, analytical skills, and high energy; commitment to education and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, analyze, strategize, adjust loss/expense reserves and manage claims and litigation.
• Provide counsel on coverage issues, liability exposure and settlement opportunities.
• Provide outstanding customer service to policyholders, partners, claimants and teammates.
• Attend mediation hearings and settlement conferences when appropriate.
• Review policies and prepare reservation of rights or declination letters as needed.
• Support a growing claims team.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
