Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Database Security Engineer for a hybrid role in Richmond, VA. The contractor will manage Imperva DAM and ensure 100% monitoring coverage across MSSQL, DB2, Oracle, and Teradata, while automating health checks and maintenance tasks.

The position requires hands-on Imperva DAM experience, strong database background, scripting ability, and a security-minded approach to baselines and policy governance. This is a 1-year contract with vendor collaboration.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Imperva DAM administration and troubleshooting.
• Deep knowledge of MSSQL, DB2, Oracle, Teradata.
• Ability to script and automate tasks (Python/PowerShell/Bash/REST).
• Experience with vendor management and incident response.
• Strong focus on database auditing and policy governance.

Responsibilities

• Manage Imperva DAM operations and serve as primary vendor contact.
• Audit database inventories and ensure DAM coverage across MSSQL, DB2, Oracle, Teradata.
• Monitor health telemetry and detect anomalies, ensure active logging.
• Review policy drift and adjust baselines to align with security standards.
• Automate daily health checks, reporting, and maintenance tasks.
