Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems is seeking a Human Factors Engineer to join the Systems Engineering team in a hybrid role based in Sterling Heights, MI. The engineer will work with Design Engineering to integrate human factors into vehicle design and ensure compliance with customer requirements.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 7 years of HFE experience, with opportunities for advanced degrees to offset experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required in Human Factors Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Systems Engineering.
• Minimum of 7 years? experience in the HFE field; advanced degree may reduce experience requirement.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Able to work in a team environment with limited supervision.
• Proficiency with Human 3-D Modeling Software (JACK, RAMSIS, Santos).
• Familiarity with Human System Integration philosophy and tasking.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with design teams to incorporate HFE input into vehicle design.
• Conducts HFE analysis to support design change recommendations.
• Evaluates customer requirements for HFE and checks vehicle compliance.
• Supports Systems Engineering in developing System Specification documents.
• Plans and conducts testing to determine compliance and design verification.
• Generates HFE reports for management and customers.
• Creates and manages Human/System Interface Databases and Hazard logs; manages Hazard Tracking.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
