Job summary

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Department for Public Health, is seeking a Health Policy Specialist II to support statewide efforts in identifying healthcare workforce shortages and improving access to care. You will perform policy research, data analysis, GIS mapping, and provide technical assistance related to HPSA designations.

This role collaborates with healthcare organizations, government agencies, and partners to strengthen Kentucky's healthcare workforce and access to care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Four years of professional experience in health care or public health fields.
• Graduate work may substitute for required experience.
• Professional experience in health policy or public health is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze healthcare workforce, demographic, geographic, and other data for HPSA designations.
• Interpret federal HPSA policies and evaluate designation options.
• Develop and update GIS maps for shortage designation and workforce analysis.
• Research data to inform statewide workforce planning and policy decisions.
• Provide technical assistance on HPSA designations and workforce shortages.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to meet HRSA requirements.
