Job summary

Florida Blue is seeking a Hadoop Administrator on a contract basis through Magnit to support GuideWell and its family of companies.

The role involves installation, upgrades, backups and configuration of Hadoop environments, Kerberos, HDFS, Hive and MapReduce access, and ongoing performance tuning. Hybrid work with some travel may be required.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in Hadoop administration and 3–5 years DBA experience, plus a related Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

• 5-8 years of Hadoop administration experience.
• Related Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement and administer Hadoop infrastructure.
• Upgrade, backup, and configure Hadoop environments.
• Manage Kerberos, user provisioning, and access controls.
• Monitor performance and capacity; tune Hadoop clusters.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and BI teams.
• Serve as vendor contact and coordinate updates.
