Job summary

University of Colorado Boulder is seeking an Assistant Director of Foundation Relations to coordinate development efforts for the Industry and Foundation Relations advancement team. The role focuses on managing a private foundation portfolio, securing $25K+ grants, and building partnerships with funders.

You will identify prospects, align opportunities with institutional priorities, and drive proposals from engagement to award and stewardship.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
1+ years of professional, job-related experience.
Experience with donor tracking software (Salesforce) and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage a portfolio of 50-70 foundation prospects capable of making gifts of $25K+. Build and cultivate strategic relationships with foundation staff and program officers.
Conduct discovery meetings and lead site visits with foundations, university faculty, staff, and leadership. Initiate follow-up communication and document contact reports.
Manage annual/cyclical grant applications for assigned foundations; monitor RFPs and coordinate with relevant offices on proposals.
Partner with faculty and staff to identify funding opportunities aligning with research and institutional goals.
Assist in preparing grant proposals and supervise progress of submissions; collaborate with relevant offices on grant agreements.
Steward foundation awards and reporting of outcomes.
Develop annual goals around development work with the Managing Senior Director.
