Southern Farm Bureau Casualty Insurance Company in Northeast Louisiana is seeking a Field Underwriter Trainee. The role involves on-the-job training in underwriting proficiency under management guidance, with opportunities to work in the field.

As part of the program you will learn to inspect risks, assist agents, and develop underwriting skills through hands-on practice and fieldwork during and after the training period.

Qualifications

• On-the-job training will develop underwriting skills.
• Ability to inspect risk and determine acceptability.
• Willingness to accompany Agents on insured appointments.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly underwrite commercial and personal lines of business.
• Inspect personal and commercial risks for hazards and determine acceptability.
• Assist independent Contractors on risks outside binding authority.
• Physically inspect, analyze and evaluate property for value, condition and exposure purposes.
• Underwrite, renew and rate various lines of business.
• Participate in inspections and field projects as assigned.
• Learn duties and responsibilities of Field Underwriter through on-the-job training.
