Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks a Survey Party Chief based in Colorado. You will join a collaborative team performing field surveys, data collection with Trimble gear, and boundary/topographic tasks for major infrastructure projects.

You’ll work outdoors, maintain data integrity, support safety plans, and travel up to 50% as needed, with a hybrid work policy balancing office and field sites. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as Instrument Operator, Party Chief, or Survey Technician.
• Experience with topographic design surveys, laser scanning, UAV pilot, subsurface utilities, boundary and/or ROW preferred.
• Must have good social and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand project scopes, client expectations, and deliverables with Project Managers.
• Support and uphold project safety plans and compliance with safety protocols.
• Perform field surveys including control networks, boundary, topographic, and laser scanning tasks.
• Collect survey data using Trimble GNSS receivers, total stations, digital levels, laser scanners, and data collectors.
• Produce clear field notes and deliver high-quality data for office processing.
• Maintain organized records of survey activities and ensure data integrity.
• Operate equipment checks and calibrations, and communicate effectively with the team.
• Work outdoors in variable weather conditions and challenging environments.
• Represent Jacobs in the field with professionalism and integrity.
• Stay current with surveying technologies and recommend improvements.
