Job summary

NYSERDA is seeking law students for a paid internship or externship for Summer 2027, located in New York State. The position combines in-office work in Albany, Buffalo, or New York City with remote arrangements, and interns may work up to 18.5 hours per week during the semester and up to 37.5 hours per week between semesters.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in an accredited law school.
• Ability to work in-person at NYSERDA’s Albany or NYC location half-time.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and writing on energy efficiency, renewables, resiliency, and related legal topics.
• Review documents and research nuclear waste and environmental issues.
• Assist attorneys with drafting and reviewing contracting provisions.
• Prepare responses to Freedom of Information Law requests and subpoenas.
• Support other tasks as assigned.
