Amentum is seeking an Electronic Component Engineering SME to influence part selection, assure reliability, support testing, and guide military programs from concept through sustainment. The role blends hands-on engineering with quality, reliability, and standards work, with hybrid work in Crane, IN.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree, 5+ years' experience in component engineering, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Component engineering experience with emphasis on quality and reliability of IEEE parts.
• Familiarity with best design practices for IEEE components.
• Basic understanding of MIL-STD standards.
• Ability to write clear, accurate technical reports.

Responsabilités

• Provide component engineering support and author technical reports.
• Advise on part selection to ensure performance and long-term sustainment.
• Troubleshoot component-level issues and propose solutions.
• Apply electrical test methods, radiation effects, failure analysis, and material analysis tools.
• Collaborate with government and industry stakeholders.
• Create and review detailed test plans and documentation.
• Provide life-cycle engineering support for defense systems.
• Participate in audits and reviews shaping standards.
• Travel up to 25% for audits and engagements.
