Job summary

CDM Smith's Industrial Business Unit seeks an Electrical Engineer to design substation and industrial power systems in a hybrid role based from one of our offices. You will deliver electrical designs, perform calculations, and develop documentation to support project delivery.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help translate technical work into client solutions. Some travel (10% or less) may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering; 3 years of related experience; travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Create basic to moderately complex designs of electric master system plans, power systems, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems.
• Conduct studies and electrical calculations for power systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm systems, security systems.
• Develop white papers and technical documentation to support knowledge management and publish designs to journals.
• Update design requirements as necessary.
• Attend conferences to improve visibility of the firm's products and services.
• Mentor junior team members through technical guidance and reviews.
