Job summary

TEKsystems is hiring a DevOps Specialist to join our collaborative team in Okemos, MI. The role focuses on managing Linux-based Jenkins servers and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines with OpenShift, Bitbucket, Maven, and NPM.

You will configure Kubernetes namespaces with Helm and Argo, manage Kafka in OpenShift, and oversee Tekton pipelines. The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, plus OO development (Java/Groovy) exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; candidates with extensive relevant experience may be considered.
• Must learn and effectively use IT division tools and development techniques.
• Some object-oriented development experience (Java, Groovy) preferred.
• Strong Linux/Red Hat and cloud fundamentals knowledge.
• Experience with Jenkins, OpenShift, Kubernetes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Linux based Jenkins servers.
• Maintain Jenkins CI/CD pipelines connected with Bitbucket, OpenShift, and build tools such as Maven and NPM.
• Configure and monitor Kubernetes namespaces; work with Helm and Argo.
• Maintain a Kafka installation running in Kubernetes (OpenShift).
• Maintain Tekton (OpenShift Pipelines) based CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage Windows virtual servers running third-party software; work with IIS, PowerShell, and Active Directory.
• Monitor servers and applications using tools such as Instana, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot database-related issues; monitor system availability and capacity.
• Identify performance issues and provide optimization suggestions.
