Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Defense Associate Attorney in San Diego to handle complex insurance defense and construction litigation. The role offers hybrid work with travel opportunities and a clear path toward partnership potential.

Requirements include a JD, bar admission (CA preferred), 3+ years' experience, and strong research, writing, and advocacy skills. You will draft pleadings, negotiate contracts, and manage cases with autonomy in a nationwide practice.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to a state bar (California preferred, but not required depending on role).
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or construction litigation.
• Proven track record handling complex litigation matters.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions, and managing case files independently.
• Excellent negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in complex insurance defense and construction litigation matters.
• Provide strategic legal counsel on a wide range of litigation issues.
• Draft, review, and negotiate pleadings, motions, contracts, and other legal documents.
• Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategy and client positions.
• Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to develop effective litigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Stay current on developments in insurance defense and construction law.
• Participate in all phases of litigation, including hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
