Leidos' Digital Modernization sector is hiring a Defensive Cyber Operations Counter‑Measures Engineer to support the GSM‑O II program, delivering cyber defense for DISA and the DoD.

The role requires active DoD clearance, a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 8+ years of experience, and expertise in malware detection, network protocols, and automation. Partial on-site presence is required with possible hybrid telework.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 8+ years of experience (or equivalent).
• 8140 CS Intermediate certification plus one of Security+, PenTest+, CySA+, GSEC, or GMON.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language (Java, Python, Ruby, or C++).
• Custom malware detection development experience.
• Advanced understanding of OSI model, defense-in-depth, and DoD networks.

Responsibilities

• Author and deploy counter‑measures to eliminate threats.
• Assess counter‑measures effectiveness and adjust actions as needed.
• Develop automation scripts/tools to scale cybersecurity work.
• Design integrations and data processing strategies to reduce risk.
• Maintain awareness of DoD and open-source vulnerability activity.
