Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) is hiring a Data Engineer to design and maintain data pipelines and architectures that support multiple programs. You will build ETL processes, transform data, and create scalable data models in cloud data warehouses to empower analysts and dashboards.

You will collaborate with data engineers and analysts to deliver reliable data solutions, optimize workflows, and ensure data quality, governance, and reproducibility in a fast‑paced nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.
• 0-2 years in data engineering, analytics, or a related role.
• Foundational SQL skills.
• At least one programming language such as Python.

Responsibilities

• Support development of data architecture and data pipelines.
• Write and maintain Python ETL scripts and SQL data models.
• Build data from multiple sources into cloud data warehouses.
• Develop automated data workflows with orchestration tools (e.g., Prefect, Airflow).
• Implement data validation and QA/QC processes to ensure data quality.
• Collaborate with analysts to build dashboards (Plotly Dash, Power BI).
• Respond to data and reporting requests and modify schemas as needed.
• Use Git for version control and collaboration.
• Document data processes and contribute to cross‑functional projects.
