Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. is seeking a Data Architect to lead the design of scalable data architectures supporting enterprise applications and analytics. You will partner with cross-functional teams to establish standards, drive decisions, and optimize data infrastructure for future growth while mentoring junior staff.

The role offers hybrid options across our offices with EST-aligned hours and occasional travel to HQ. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3-5+ years of data architecture/engineering experience.
• Experience designing enterprise data warehouses and data lakes.
• Hands-on cloud data technologies (AWS/Azure) and modern data integration tools.
• Strong data governance, metadata management, and data quality practices.
• Ability to translate complex requirements into scalable data architectures.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across business and technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise applications and analytics platforms.
• Architect end-to-end data solutions including data integration, storage, access patterns, and migration strategies.
• Define and enforce data architecture standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
• Evaluate data technologies and platforms to meet business and technical needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data architectures.
• Establish and maintain data lineage, metadata management, and data cataloging practices.
• Design, implement, manage, and maintain databases supporting enterprise apps and analytics.
• Lead database tuning, performance monitoring, and query optimization.
• Ensure database security and RBAC; plan upgrades and minimize downtime.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and architects.
