City of Eugene seeks a Cybersecurity Architect to lead architecture, policy development, and risk management for municipal IT. You will guide threat assessment, security operations, and interagency collaboration to strengthen the city's defensive posture.

The role requires 6+ years in cybersecurity, 2+ years in leadership, and CJIS/HIPAA/PCI knowledge, with a bilingual pay option and a hybrid work schedule in Eugene, Oregon.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in information security, computer science, information technology, or closely related field.
• Master’s degree in cybersecurity, IT management, or related field is preferred.
• Six years of professional cybersecurity or information security experience, including leadership experience.
• Experience in public-sector or municipal IT environments is preferred.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+ preferred; CJIS certification within 90 days.

Responsabilidades

• Creates and manages cybersecurity architecture, adhering to the NIST Cybersecurity Framework.
• Advises on policies relating to cybersecurity standards (remote access, password policy).
• Tracks emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technology trends relevant to municipal IT environments.
• Participates in Architectural Review Board for new technologies.
• Scopes, evaluates, implements, configures, and manages security tools to meet cybersecurity needs.
• Researches emerging risks and frontier technologies from a cybersecurity lens.
• Maintains and enhances cybersecurity strategy, policies, standards, and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with CJIS, HIPAA, PCI and state cybersecurity mandates.
• Conducts recurring security audits and risk assessments with prioritized recommendations.
• Directs daily security operations: real-time monitoring, SIEM, log analysis, anomalies.
• Manages vulnerability scanning, configuration assessments, remediation coordination.
• Oversees deployment and lifecycle of security platforms (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection).
• Leads full incident response lifecycle: triage, containment, eradication, forensics, remediation.
• Coordinates cross-department incident response and updates policies accordingly.
• Maintains and updates incident response plans and conducts tabletop exercises.
