Job summary

Wilson Elser, a national law firm with Connecticut offices in Stamford and Hartford, seeks an Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. As an Associate Attorney you will manage an active litigation caseload, collaborate with partners and staff, handle court appearances, depositions, and motions, and prepare pleadings and discovery responses.

Strong writing and advocacy skills are essential. Admission to CT bar, JD from accredited school, and liability litigation experience preferred;

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the State of Connecticut.
• General liability litigation experience.
• Experience handling products liability, trucking, and transportation matters.
• Medical malpractice experience is a plus.
• Excellent written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment.
• Strong organizational and legal project management skills.
• The ability to independently manage a caseload while meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality legal work.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage an active litigation caseload.
• Collaborate closely with partners, attorneys, and legal support staff on a variety of litigation matters.
• Handle court appearances, depositions, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide timely case status updates.
• Develop litigation strategy while delivering outstanding client service.
