Job summary

Independent Health is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our team in the Buffalo area. The CSR will listen empathetically, answer inquiries, and guide members through benefits, claims, plans and eligibility using multiple databases.

The role requires strong communication, computer navigation skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Training is about 10 weeks of paid, on-site sessions at Williamsville, NY, with a shift between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM after completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience in customer service required.
• Call center experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to type while speaking.
• Strong written and verbal communication; teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and de-escalate when needed.
• Document calls accurately and meet quality goals.
• Maintain knowledge of contracts, benefits and policies; follow escalation procedures.
• Use multiple systems to determine claim status and perform adjustments when applicable.
