Job summary

The Mom Project seeks an Accounting Operations Supervisor on a contract basis to lead a team delivering accurate and timely accounting support. The role is hybrid, onsite three days per week in Urbandale, IA, overseeing workflow, process improvements, and control environments.

You will coach and develop staff, assign tasks, communicate with stakeholders, and drive performance while adhering to policies and driving continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in accounting or finance.
• Experience leading and coaching a team in accounting operations or finance operations.
• Strong ability to assign/review work and meet weekly objectives.
• Clear communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven problem-solving with process changes.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop a team through coaching, guidance, and mentorship; set clear expectations and goals; monitor and evaluate performance.
• Lead, direct, and review work to maintain workflow and productivity; assign tasks with clear instructions.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external partners; adapt communication style.
• Explain and reinforce policies and procedures; provide guidance for understanding and compliance.
• Make adjustments to procedures to solve problems; apply process improvement methods.
• Solve complex operational issues by applying critical thinking and analyzing broader impacts.
• Drive operational performance by setting targets, prioritizing work, and monitoring results.
