Job summary

Propeller, based in San Francisco, seeks a Consulting Manager to lead complex client engagements, guide high-performing teams, and cultivate trusted relationships that deliver meaningful results.

You’ll oversee work from initiation through completion, balance client needs with delivery quality and Propeller’s goals, and coach consultants while managing staffing and budgets. Travel up to 15% in a hybrid SF model may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have 12+ years of project management, strategy, operations, and/or change management, including at least 3 years at a management consulting firm.
• Experience serving as an Engagement Lead on consulting engagements; able to lead teams to deliver on complex projects with multiple workstreams.
• Ability to build and sustain trusted, executive-level client relationships.
• Track record of developing others through coaching and feedback.
• Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Career history showing progressive responsibilities and accountability.
• Ability to travel based on client need (up to 15%).
• Ability to demonstrate a legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Lead contracted scopes of work, ensuring deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
• Serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex decisions and develop effective solutions.
• Develop frameworks, approaches, and methodologies that strengthen delivery and future work.
• Lead complex, multi-workstream engagements and take accountability for team performance, health, and delivery.
• Establish staffing, roles, responsibilities, and ways of working throughout engagements.
• Coach consultants and provide timely feedback, partnering with leadership on development and performance.
