Job summary

Washington State Department of Veterans Affairs in Orting, WA seeks a Compliance Auditor (Management Analyst 4) to strengthen internal controls and oversee the agency's compliance program. The role involves leading risk-based audits, reviewing CMS/Medicaid processes, and reporting findings to management.

You will collaborate with program managers to implement corrective actions, monitor compliance, and ensure governance and regulatory adherence across WDVA facilities.

Qualifications

• Education in business administration, accounting, healthcare administration, public administration, law, public health, nursing, quality management, or closely related field.
• Three (3) years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: compliance or auditing, quality assurance, risk management, regulatory affairs, healthcare operations, program evaluation.
• Experience researching, interpreting, and applying federal and state laws, regulations, CFR/RCW/WACCMS requirements.
• Experience preparing written reports, presenting findings, and communicating with stakeholders.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Manage audit projects to ensure timely completion of fieldwork, reporting and follow-up.
• Plan and conduct risk-based audits, compliance reviews, and consulting engagements.
• Perform compliance reviews of Medicare, Medicaid, VA Per Diem, and other reimbursement processes.
• Identify control weaknesses and develop corrective action plans.
• Prepare and present audit reports to program managers and executives.
