Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking a Compensation Administrator to lead enterprise-wide compensation initiatives and governance. You will partner with business units to interpret policies, perform market pricing analyses, and support pay equity and merit/pay-design projects.

The role requires strong HRIS experience, advanced data analysis skills, and the ability to educate managers on WMATA pay practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Finance, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of human resources experience with compensation techniques such as salary structures, market pricing and variable pay.
  • Experience using HRIS systems (PeopleSoft, SAP, Ceridian or similar) and office suite tools.
  • Ability to develop, implement and monitor compensation governance and education for managers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in assessing current compensation programs to align with WMATA objectives.
  • Provide compensation support and problem-solving expertise across business units.
  • Develop and deliver compensation education sessions for managers.
  • Collaborate with Finance for budget impacts and cost projections.
  • Lead compensation projects when Manager, Compensation is unavailable.
  • Ensure compliance with wage-hour laws and regulatory requirements.
