Job summary

P2S|CMTA is seeking a Commissioning Agent with a hands-on approach to evaluate and optimize building system performance. The role requires 5+ years of mechanical design experience for commercial buildings and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

The position is hybrid: 3 days in-office, 2 remote, with travel up to 30%. Responsibilities include design reviews, commissioning plan development, testing, reporting, and coordinating with Owners, Engineers, and Contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• CxA (ACG) or CCP (BCA) or BCxP (ASHRAE) preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for commercial buildings.
• Knowledge of HVAC, Central Utility Plants, Plumbing/Piping, Electrical systems, controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of drawings, specifications, and submittals to ensure alignment with OPR and BOD.
• Develop commissioning plans, pre-functional checklists, and functional performance test procedures.
• Identify, document, and track issues throughout all project phases and support resolution.
• Execute and oversee functional performance testing of building systems.
• Lead commissioning coordination meetings with Owners, Engineers, GC, Sub Contractors, and Facilities Personnel.
• Prepare clear, organized reports summarizing project progress, test results, and system performance.
• Support owner training and documentation of systems and operations.
