Job summary

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP seeks an associate with 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience to join its Business & Commercial Disputes practice in Irvine, Los Angeles, San Francisco or Seattle.

The ideal candidate will handle sophisticated commercial disputes, perform extensive research and writing, and collaborate with partners, clients and case teams. Strong advocacy and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of commercial litigation experience at a firm of comparable caliber.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills; ability to take meaningful responsibility.
• Experience handling sophisticated commercial litigation matters and disputes.

Responsibilities

• Drafting substantive motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery requests and responses.
• Conducting legal research and developing practical litigation strategies.
• Managing written discovery, document production, and other discovery aspects.
• Analyzing complex factual and legal issues and presenting clear recommendations.
• Supporting development of case strategy and preparing for significant events and proceedings.
• Managing significant components of matters with partner supervision.
• Coordinating with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and the case team.
• Experience taking depositions and court appearances is a plus.
• Contributing to a collaborative and collegial team environment.
