Job summary

IBM in Rochester, MN is seeking an Entry Level Software Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade software powering IBM infrastructure offerings. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable solutions for hybrid cloud, storage, security, and systems management.

The role involves participating in the full software development lifecycle, designing and implementing backend components, and supporting DevOps practices with CI/CD

Qualifications

• Understanding software design principles, OO programming, and data structures.
• Knowledge of Git and source control workflows.
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments and CLI tools.
• Understanding of testing methods, debugging, and performance analysis.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of cloud concepts, containerization, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in full SDLC including requirements, design, implementation, and testing.
• Collaborate with product management, architects, QA, support, and operations.
• Develop scalable, secure applications, services, APIs, and backend components.
• Troubleshoot defects, performance bottlenecks, and customer issues.
• Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and docs.
• Implement automated testing and CI/CD pipelines; apply DevOps practices.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
• Support agile processes and participate in sprint events.
