Zachary Piper Solutions in Washington D.C. is seeking a Cloud Engineer to design and migrate cloud solutions, automate deployments, and support enterprise cloud operations in a DOJ program.

The role emphasizes cloud-native tech, DevSecOps, IaC, and containerized environments in a hybrid work setting. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in IT/CS and 5+ years in cloud architecture, plus experience with IaaS/PaaS/SaaS/DaaS, and strong governance and security practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven experience designing, developing, and supporting cloud architecture and cloud service delivery models including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and DaaS.
• Strong experience implementing DevSecOps practices, cloud automation, and GitLab-based development workflows.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies and automated cloud resource provisioning.
• Experience with containerization, container orchestration, and cloud security best practices.
• Ability to analyze applications and develop migration, deployment, cost optimization, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience managing cloud policies, governance frameworks, and highly available cloud environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop cloud-native applications and migrate existing on-premises applications into cloud environments.
• Analyze applications and recommend cloud migration, optimization, deployment, and modernization strategies.
• Implement cloud automation, DevSecOps processes, Infrastructure as Code solutions, and containerized deployments.
• Design secure, scalable, and highly available cloud environments while supporting cost optimization and disaster recovery initiatives.
• Debug cloud services, manage cloud infrastructure, and support enterprise cloud operations.
