Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the Controls Fleet and Data Center Capacity Delivery. You will deploy, manage, and optimize large Windows environments, develop automation tools, and collaborate across global teams to improve reliability and security.

You will work in a fast-paced, hyper-growth setting with on-call responsibilities and occasional travel. A strong background in scripting and hybrid cloud infrastructure is essential to succeed in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
  • 4+ years of site reliability engineering, systems engineering, or related experience.
  • 2+ years building scripts and automation for large-scale computing environments.
  • Experience with languages such as Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, or Shell.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, manage, and support large-scale Windows environments across data center infrastructure.
  • Oversee data center construction initiatives and deployment projects.
  • Design and develop automation tools and scripts to streamline deployment processes.
  • Leverage AWS cloud services to support hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Lead multiple projects focused on infrastructure optimization, security, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with networking, software, developers, and controls engineers; communicate technical concepts clearly.
  • Implement security measures and risk mitigation across transitions.
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and travel up to ~25%.
