Job summary

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is seeking a Clinical Registered Dietitian to join our California team in a hybrid, part-time role. The position combines on-site weekly support with remote work to deliver high-quality nutrition care while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Schedule is 24–32 hours per week, with on-site visits once per week and travel reimbursement. Compensation is $40.00–$45.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential (CDR).
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
• Skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred.
• Excellent communication with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
• Proficiency with electronic charting systems.
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments on new admissions and quarterly thereafter.
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
• Provide nutrition education and counseling.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and the care team.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, Department of Health regulations.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation.
• Monitor residents' weight regularly.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits and document findings.
• Review and approve menus semi-annually.

Clinical Registered Dietitian Position – Part-Time/Hybrid

Overview:

RD Nutrition Consultants LLC is excited to offer an opportunity for a Clinical Registered Dietitian to join our team in California. This position offers a flexible hybrid schedule, combining weekly on-site support with remote work to provide high-quality nutrition care while maintaining work-life balance.

Facility Type: Skilled Nursing

Schedule: 24–32 hours per week

Flexibility: Flexible days and hours based on facility needs. This is a hybrid position requiring one on-site visit per week, with the remainder of the weekly hours completed remotely.

Compensation: $40.00–$45.00 per hour, based on experience

Travel Reimbursement: Travel time to and from the facility is paid at the same hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments on new admissions and quarterly thereafter, with more frequent reviews as needed for high-risk residents.
  
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans.
  
• Provide nutrition education and counseling as needed.
  
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
  
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and Department of Health requirements.
  
• Maintain timely and appropriate clinical documentation.
  
• Monitor residents for changes in weight weekly and/or monthly to identify potential changes in nutrition or hydration status.
  
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance nutrition care services and resident outcomes as needed.
  
• Conduct monthly kitchen sanitation audits, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
  
• Review and approve menus on a semi-annual basis to ensure they meet applicable guidelines.
  
• Perform other tasks as assigned and within scope of practice as needed.
  

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field from an accredited program.
  
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
  
• Skilled nursing or long-term care experience preferred.
  
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
  
• Ability to apply critical thinking to a variety of situations and develop, implement, and monitor effective plans for improvement.
  
• Proficiency in providing general nutrition interventions.
  
• Familiarity with state survey processes and nutrition care regulations.
  
• Competency with electronic charting systems.
  
• Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment and effectively manage both on-site and remote responsibilities.
