Homesteaders Life Company is seeking a Claims Operations Specialist to support end-to-end claims intake, setup, and responsive assistance. You will collaborate with the Claims Care phone team and examiners in a hybrid role, handling mail claims and peak-period support for the Claims Care Phone team.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (associates or bachelor’s preferred), 1+ years in a claims-focused phone environment, and insurance administration experience; LOMA coursework

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor preferred.
• 1+ years in a claims-focused phone environment with customer support.
• Experience in insurance administration or operations preferred.
• LOMA Principles and Operations coursework completed within two years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Establish new claims in the claims system and gather missing documentation.
• Process web claim submissions including setup and payments.
• Monitor and triage incoming claims emails and queues.
• Match incoming requirements to pending claims and prepare files.
• Preview death claims and coordinate with funeral homes for outstanding requirements.
• Resolve routine inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Maintain organized, compliant claims files.
• Provide support to Claims department and Claims Care Phone team during peak periods.
