Job summary

Daimler Truck North America in Portland, OR, is seeking an entry-level manufacturing engineer to invent, develop, and implement production processes for high-quality vehicle assembly. The role focuses on process optimization, equipment layout, and troubleshooting across the manufacturing chain.

The position offers a hybrid schedule (4 days in-office / 1 day remote) and relocation to Portland may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree and 0-2 years of relevant experience OR 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• Proficient in CAD, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
• Requires basic understanding of theories, practices, and procedures related to job field.
• Works within standard practices and procedures to analyze information and problems of limited scope.
• Works within standardized procedures to meet objectives and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements new or revised production processes for efficient mass production of goods.
• Designs arrangement of manufacturing equipment to ensure efficient layout.
• Designs the sequence of production operations, specifying procedures for fabrication and adapting machinery.
• Conducts tests to control variables and troubleshoot production problems.
• Provides guidance to product design engineering on technical specifications to optimize equipment use.
• Ensures production processes comply with regulations.
