Job summary

MSIG USA seeks a Catastrophe Modeling Analyst to advance account-level property modeling for our commercial portfolio. You will work with AIR vendor tools and internal systems to analyze data, support underwriters, and monitor aggregate exposures.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of catastrophe modeling experience, preferably in commercial lines with portfolio focus.
  • Proficiency in Verisk CAT modeling; Moody's experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of commercial property insurance terms and modeling of complex structures.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and SQL; experience with Python, VBA, or R is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication to present analyses to stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform account-level property catastrophe modeling and assist underwriters with day-to-day requests.
  • Review and validate high-impact modeling results; support efficiency improvements.
  • Identify and monitor aggregate exposures to mitigate losses from extreme events.
  • Track and analyze underwriting data to manage MSMM’s property portfolio.
  • Maintain data quality through file and portfolio QC checks and reviews.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, reinsurance, and management to ensure data integrity.
  • Provide modeling support for field underwriters and deliver results to Ceded Re, Actuarial and Finance.
  • Support monthly and quarterly modeling processes and ad hoc projects.
