Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market is seeking an AR Accountant to support cash management, AR and reconciliations. Hybrid work arrangement available in Grand Rapids, MI or Downers Grove, IL with in-office Mon-Wed and remote Thu-Fri.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting is required.
• 5+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience.
• Excellent communication skills across multiple levels and areas.
• Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and solve problems.
• Specialized skills in cash management, billing, AR, and data integrations.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Great Plains.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely and accurate cash account reconciliations and related journal entries.
• Assist with bank reconciliation software implementation.
• Oversee daily cash balancing at store level and monitor cash balances.
• Ensure cash processing compliance and recommend procedural changes.
• Handle accounting related to credit cards and bank fees.
• Ensure vendor billbacks are entered with correct coding.
• Monitor collection of billback receivables and support AR reserve.
• Support period-end close and related reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements including automation.
• Other duties as assigned.
