Job summary

Unlimited Technology is seeking a skilled Drafting Specialist to produce and maintain CAD drawing packages for access control, video surveillance, and other low-voltage systems. You will work from specifications, site notes, and redlines to deliver accurate, installation-ready drawings, and as-built packages at project closeout.

The role requires a mix of in-office and remote work (3 days in Herndon, VA and 2 days remote).

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical degree, drafting certification, or equivalent experience in CAD, construction technology, electronic security, low-voltage systems, or engineering technology.
• 5+ years of technical drafting experience supporting access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, low-voltage systems, or construction documentation.
• Autodesk AutoCAD 2020 or later with Sheet Set Manager, external references, dynamic blocks, data linking.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and security drawings and documents.
• Knowledge of physical security systems components and related network aspects.
• Bluebeam proficiency for markup, review, and takeoffs; Revit/Navisworks BIM coordination is a plus; familiarity with common security platforms is a bonus.
• Autodesk AutoCAD certification preferred but not required.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% and meet background requirements.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain AutoCAD drawing packages and shop drawings for security and low-voltage systems.
• Translate device markups and notes into complete drawing packages.
• Apply drawing standards and maintain library; update with new devices and details.
• Prepare drawings for permit submission and AHJ review as required.
• Support BIM coordination using Revit and Navisworks, and review with Bluebeam.
