Job summary

Freese and Nichols is seeking an experienced Civil CAD Technician/Designer to join the Dams and Levees Team within the Water Resources Design Group. The role focuses on developing 3D models and precise CAD deliverables for complex dam and levee infrastructures.

You will interpret survey data, collaborate with engineers, and maintain CAD standards while mentoring junior staff. A strong Civil 3D background and cross-disciplinary teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience using Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Advanced expertise in CAD software and engineering design.
• Ability to learn, adapt, and solve problems to produce quality deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models, drawings, and details for dam, levee, and water resource projects.
• Interpret survey data to build accurate 3D surfaces, alignments, and profiles.
• Translate sketches and redlines into precise CAD deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers to produce construction plans and technical drawings.
• Apply and maintain CAD standards and update templates, styles, blocks, and processes.
• Conduct QA reviews on models and data for accuracy and compliance.
• Train and mentor CAD staff and engineers in drawing production.
