Job summary

Essentra, a global supplier of essential industrial components, is hiring a Buyer for our Flippin, AR location. This hybrid role requires onsite presence three days per week after training and focuses on maintaining inbound inventory and supplier performance.

You will issue POs, manage vendor negotiations, and collaborate with Demand Planning to ensure stock availability and competitive pricing. Strong communication and ERP proficiency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; college degree is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Experience with an ERP system.
• Minimum 3 years of related purchasing experience, ideally in the manufacturing / distribution sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues effectively.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Adaptable to change.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Works well with other teams to ensure all parties are engaged and involved, ensuring successful completion of projects.
• Ability to produce work on time, accurately, and in full.
• Remains efficient and effective when working in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate Purchase Orders for goods and services from suppliers to deliver against demand and inventory needs.
• Ensure price and MOQ benefits are fully utilized with vendors.
• Collaborate with Demand Planning and Pricing Analyst to optimize stock and costs.
• Hold suppliers to lead times and delivery schedules and address underperforming suppliers.
• Conduct daily outbound calls with vendors and proactively expedite orders.
• Monitor and control inventory value while maintaining service levels.
• Maintain purchasing data in the ERP system and resolve issues.
• Perform related job duties as assigned.
• Take ownership with suppliers on problems until resolved.
• Maintain relationships to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.
