Job summary

ZEISS Group in Maple Grove, MN, is seeking a Buyer Planner to ensure material availability, optimize inventory, and drive data-driven planning. The role leverages ERP systems, AI analytics, and collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Suppliers to improve service levels and working capital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, operations, business, or engineering.
• 3+ years in supply chain planning, procurement, or inventory management.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
• APICS/ASCM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical trends and AI-assisted forecasting.
• Support monthly S&OP and IBP processes.
• Identify forecast risks and opportunities; propose actions.
• Collaborate with Sales, Service, Product Mgmt, and Manufacturing.
• Monitor forecast accuracy and improve planning methodologies.
• Ensure material availability to support production schedules.
• Identify supply constraints and develop mitigation plans.
• Manage exception-based planning and prioritize shortages.
• Use dashboards to monitor supply chain performance.
• Support production leveling and capacity planning initiatives.
• Manage procurement activities and supplier scheduling.
• Monitor supplier delivery, lead times, and risk indicators.
• Drive supplier performance via data-driven reviews and corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate material and supplier master data.
• Support Engineering Change Management and lifecycle planning.
• Identify opportunities for process simplification and automation.
• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans.
• Support supplier onboarding and resiliency initiatives.
• Drive proactive risk monitoring and escalation processes.
