Job summary

FacadeToday is seeking a Building Envelope Engineer/Consultant in Los Angeles for a mix of field investigations, analysis, and design work on exterior walls, roofs, and waterproofing systems. The role includes reporting on façade performance, moisture, energy, and durability for both new and existing buildings.

Ideal candidates have 3-7 years in the field and hold a PE license or are a registered Architect. Hybrid work and professional licensure support are offered as part of the package.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of exterior wall, roofing, or waterproofing experience.
• PE license or Registered Architect (required).
• Experience with enclosure rehabilitation or investigations.
• Knowledge of building physics (thermal, moisture, vapor, air movement).
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Field investigation and problem-solving mindset.
• Bonus: modeling tools or enclosure testing protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assess building envelope assemblies for condition, failures, and performance issues.
• Assist with repair design and recommendations for existing buildings.
• Support enclosure design reviews for new construction and renovation.
• Conduct on-site diagnostic testing and documentation.
• Evaluate system performance for moisture, energy, and durability.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to clients.
