Job summary

DTCC is seeking a Software Engineer in Tampa to design, build, and support Java-based backend applications powering critical Clearing and Settlement platforms. You will work in a highly technical role focused on reliability, performance, and scalable enterprise-grade software.

You will collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and business partners across teams, applying Agile practices in a hybrid work model with a mix of on-site and remote days.

Qualifications

• Experience in backend Java applications in an enterprise setting.
• Strong Java (Core/Java EE) and Spring (Boot/MVC) REST API development.
• Experience with microservices and SOA architectures.
• Relational databases and SQL; Oracle/PLSQL preferred.
• CI/CD with Git/Bitbucket, Maven, Jenkins.
• JUnit/Mockito for unit/integration testing.
• Agile delivery environments; Jira experience.
• Security concepts including OAuth/JWT.
• Excellent collaboration and communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications.
• Build high-quality Java code following standards.
• Develop and execute unit and integration tests.
• Contribute to design and implementation of components/services.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions.
• Create and maintain system documentation.
• Collaborate with architects and peers on designs.
• Apply Agile/iterative/waterfall based on project needs.
• Support CI/CD practices and deployments.
• Provide production support and performance tuning.
• Embed risk and control considerations in daily work.
