Job summary

SOLV Energy, LLC is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Systems Engineer to manage and optimize our Azure and AWS infrastructure. This hands-on role reports to IT Infrastructure and Cloud Manager and requires strong Azure expertise, security focus, and automation skills.

The position is hybrid with regular in-office presence in San Diego, CA. You will design and implement cloud solutions, drive cost efficiency, and collaborate to uphold enterprise security standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT or related field.
• 10+ years IT infrastructure experience with 5+ years on Azure at enterprise scale.
• Strong Azure administration, performance tuning, and security knowledge.
• Linux OS experience and scripting for automation.
• Expertise with IaC tools (Terraform, ARM templates).
• Networking proficiency and cloud security best practices.
• PowerShell, Python, Bash scripting for automation.

Responsibilities

• Assess current Azure and AWS instances and create a continuous improvement roadmap.
• Define cloud strategy to maximize IT investment ROI and uptime.
• Adopt best practices in cloud architecture, performance, and security.
• Design, plan, and implement Azure and AWS systems for storage, compute, data integration, security.
• Collaborate with SecOps to ensure compliance with security standards.
• Automate tasks, apply updates, and manage costs across cloud environments.
• Monitor cloud systems, address alerts, and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop Disaster Recovery, Backup, and retention policies on Azure/AWS.
