Job summary

Johnson & Johnson MedTech, Robotics and Digital (RAD) Solutions in Cincinnati, OH, seeks an Associate Performance Engineer for R&D Robotics. You will develop and optimize system-level performance of robotic medical devices, design tests, and analyze data to ensure performance requirements are met.

The role collaborates with cross-disciplinary teams, develops dashboards, and supports integration of hardware and software. Hybrid work with 3 days on-site, travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 1+ years’ product development/design experience.
• Experience in test method development, data analysis, and root cause analysis.
• Python scripting for test automation and data processing is required.
• Basic mechanical design and analysis, including mechanism design and machine elements.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to present technical information.
• Up to 10% travel (domestic/international) may be required.
• Experience with medical devices and regulatory understanding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design tests to accurately capture system performance relative to requirements.
• Define testing strategies that align with business and timing constraints.
• Write test scripts to capture and post-process test data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop dashboards and data visualizations to interpret test data and guide decisions.
• Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to ensure instruments meet performance requirements and integrate smoothly.
• Perform test method validation on formal verification test methods for accuracy and reliability.
