Partners Legal Search has partnered with a nationally recognized litigation firm to place an Associate Attorney in Houston, TX. The role defenses civil matters in a hybrid setting, offering mentorship from seasoned trial lawyers and substantial responsibility over complex cases.

The ideal candidate holds an active Texas license with 2+ years of civil litigation experience, strong writing and research skills, and a proactive approach to courtroom practice and client service.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Texas and in good standing.
• 2+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably on the defense side.
• Strong legal research, writing, motion practice, and discovery skills.
• Experience with depositions and other key aspects of civil litigation.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
• A proactive, solution-oriented approach.
• Strong interest in developing courtroom and trial skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with partners and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own caseload with partner oversight, guidance, and mentorship.
• Draft and argue motions and handle written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear in court and participate in hearings and trials.
• Work directly with clients on complex and high-stakes litigation matters.
• Develop practical litigation and case-management skills while working closely with experienced trial attorneys.
