Segal McCambridge, a nationally recognized litigation firm, seeks an Associate Attorney to join our General Liability and Complex Litigation team in Chicago. This role offers meaningful hands-on litigation experience with high-exposure matters across product liability, medical malpractice, and professional negligence, in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Active license to practice law in Illinois.
• Minimum of 2 years of civil defense litigation experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, motion practice, and advocacy skills.
• Experience handling depositions, discovery, client reporting, and case management responsibilities.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of assignments and client matters.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active litigation caseload with partner guidance and support.
• Draft pleadings, motions, written discovery, and other litigation-related filings.
• Take and defend depositions, appear in court, and participate in mediations and arbitrations.
• Handle day-to-day case strategy and client communication.
• Work on complex, high-stakes matters for sophisticated national clients.
• Gain hands-on experience in all phases of litigation through trial and resolution.
