Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC seeks an Assistant General Counsel to provide legal counsel and risk assessment across employment, contracts, EHS, and litigation matters for Sysco Corporation and its global sites. The role supports senior management and leads strategy for litigation and contracting, while partnering with HR, claims, sales, operations and finance to drive enterprise initiatives.

The position requires collaboration with leadership, management of outside counsel, and the ability to deliver

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years legal experience in either a law firm or corporate setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily legal counsel regarding employment, contracts, EHS, or litigation matters.
• Direct and develop strategy for respective legal matters.
• Manage outside counsel fees and costs to maintain efficiency.
• Respond to complaints filed with government agencies and other pre-litigation matters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support enterprise-wide initiatives and policies.
• Prepare training materials for internal clients on strategic legal matters.
