Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking an actuarial pricing analyst to support pricing and ratemaking activities. The role analyzes loss, premium, and expense experience and helps build models and tools for competitive pricing.

The position involves experience analyses, market trends, and collaboration on rate filings. Requires actuarial analysis skills, Excel proficiency, and ACAS/FCAS pursuit with several exams completed.

Qualifications

• Experience performing actuarial analyses and pricing for a line of business.
• Proficiency with Excel and at least one programming language.
• P&C insurance knowledge and understanding of underwriting guidelines.
• Pursuit of ACAS/FCAS designation with exams completed.
• At least 2 years actuarial experience, with pricing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts experience analyses (loss, premium, and expense) and summarizes findings to support pricing strategy and business decisions.
• Supports competitive and market analysis; helps identify trends, impacts, and opportunities.
• Assists with actuarial modeling to quantify risk and evaluate pricing alternatives (e.g., indications, relativities, scenario/sensitivity testing).
• Provides technical support for rate filings with state insurance departments, including documentation and responses to regulatory questions.
• Supports the rate review process by preparing analyses and materials for pricing meetings and stakeholder discussions.
• Assists in the development, enhancement, and maintenance of pricing tools, templates, and reporting.
• Assists with pricing analyses for new products and coverage enhancements
