Job summary

Arrow Electronics in Northford, CT is seeking a HW/Regulatory Engineer with 5–10 years of hardware design experience to develop robust systems with FIRE compliance and manage UL certification projects.

You will integrate safety, EMC/EMI, environmental, and reliability considerations into the design, prepare technical files and reports, and coordinate with UL, FM and other regulatory bodies to secure approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical engineering.
• 5+ years of hardware design and development experience.
• Strong analog electronics design involving sensors, transistors, op-amps and passive components.
• Experience with digital and microcontroller-based hardware design.
• At least 2 years coordinating UL certification projects end-to-end.
• Working knowledge of UL standards (e.g., UL 864) and certification processes.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Familiarity with global standards such as NFPA, NEC, NEMA, FCC, CISPR.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop hardware systems with built-in FIRE regulatory compliance.
• Integrate safety, EMC/EMI, environmental, reliability considerations into the design process.
• Review schematics, layouts, and BOMs for regulatory compliance, reliability, and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with UL and other regulatory bodies to secure product approvals.
• Develop and implement certification strategies and testing plans.
• Prepare technical files, test reports, and compliance documentation.
• Guide cross-functional teams on regulatory requirements and changes.
