RF Hardware Verification Engineer (Hardware Design Verification)
Type: Contract, C2C | [Duration, e.g., 12 months, with possible extension]
Experience: 3–12 years
About the role
Our client is looking for an RF Hardware Verification Engineer to verify [RF/wireless infrastructure hardware, e.g., 4G/5G radio units]. This is a hands-on lab role. You’ll turn product and design requirements into a verification plan, then build and run the test setup and automation. You’ll also debug failures down to root cause and make sure every requirement is tested and traceable.
This is lab-based hardware verification, not ASIC/FPGA pre-silicon verification (UVM/SystemVerilog).
What you’ll do
- Write hardware verification plans from product and design requirements, including scope, test cases, methods and acceptance criteria.
- Perform unit and board bring-up and functional verification.
- Measure RF and electrical performance, such as output power, EVM, ACLR, spurious emissions, sensitivity and noise figure.
- Test across operating and corner conditions, including temperature, voltage and frequency, using thermal chambers.
- Set up test benches, operate RF test equipment, and build test automation.
- Run regression testing, analyze results, and lead fault isolation and root-cause analysis.
- Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and track verification coverage.
Required qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on lab experience in RF or electrical hardware verification, validation or test.
- Hands-on use of RF test equipment, such as signal/spectrum analyzers, VSG/VSA, network analyzers (VNA) and power meters.
- Experience measuring RF parameters such as EVM, ACLR, output power, spurious emissions or noise figure.
- Test automation and instrument control using Python (PyVISA/SCPI), LabVIEW or TestStand.
- Hardware bring-up, debugging and root-cause analysis at the board or unit level.
- Experience writing test plans and maintaining requirement-to-test traceability.
- BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Nice to have
- Experience with RF/wireless infrastructure hardware, such as radio units, base stations, small cells, or 4G/5G NR and O-RAN products.
- Environmental and thermal chamber testing.
- MS in Electrical Engineering.
Work requirements
- Must work onsite in Dallas, TX.
- [Work authorization requirements, e.g., must be authorized to work in the U.S. on C2C terms]
